"Fun sketch with the Studio Electronics Boomstar SE80, a mono synth with filters inspired by the iconic Yamaha CS-80. I love this synth. It's truly magical and unpredictable in ways at times with essentially an endless palette of analog tone in front of you.. but it is also just so easy to dial in sounds with the plethora of knobs and switches packed in. And I LOVE the formant sounds you can coax out of it.. My only mono now, no regrets.. The interface feels very natural and inviting. I have way too many photos of patches on my phone that I still need to take the time to convert into a PDF book with the proper patch sheet file from SE. Anyway - SE80 recorded into Logic. Some (software) FX and processing applied etc etc etc. All sounds SE80 except for the backing choir I felt compelled to add and keep in (8DIO Requiem ). Thanks for listening! I hope this inspires you in any sort of way."

"I recorded this arp progression while experimenting & recording samples with the SE80 and had to share it - this synth oozes with endless tone and is so fun to sculpt sounds with. The Studio Electronics Boomstar SE80 is a mono synth with filters inspired by the legendary Yamaha CS-80. The SE80 was recorded into/with Logic in this clip with a bit of delay and reverb added afterward for space. Aside from that, the audio is raw. This synth is raw itself and can sound loud, powerful, aggressive, soft, expressive, beautiful, often at the flick of a switch and/or turn of a knob or two.. it's up to you. I love it. This is a multitrack droning pad chord with an arp layer as well, all recorded with the Studio Electronics Boomstar SE80 - a mono synth with filters inspired by the legendary Yamaha CS-80. The SE80 is running a tad wet through OTO BIM and was recorded into Logic with some minimal processing (slight eq, compression) applied afterward aaand the group of recordings is sent to Valhalla VintageVerb for that extra space. mtl.asm Count to 5 Experiments 01 - Microwave XT, Spitfire Tundra

"So, I decided it was time to begin making my own Experiments series with the wondrous Count To 5 by the Montreal Assembly. This pedal is running the Nightly firmware. For the music in this video, I ran the short demo track I created for my last video (with the Microwave XT & Spitfire Tundra) through the CT5 in mode 2, 100% wet, twisted the bottom 3 knobs at times, and had an expression pedal hooked up as well with the E switch down. There are other worlds inside of this pedal. I love it!

Also, I've recently been having some fun experimenting in making motion loops in Photoshop for my videos. This is my favourite so far.

Microwave XT x Spitfire Albion Tundra - A beautiful pairing

"I wanted to make a short demo using the Microwave XT to show how well this wonder-machine can fit with acoustic instruments, particularly within the context of film scores. In this track, I've used a few instances of the stunning Spitfire Audio Albion Tundra library for NI Kontakt along with a single recording of a pad patch I created on the Microwave XT. While auditioning wavetables to use with this track, the Organ wavetable stood out as the winner with these particular chords, but I'm very much looking forward to sharing more music using the other factory wavetables which definitely can evoke different thoughts, feelings, and emotions mixed with the endless universe of possibilities the MWXT is capable of. I would love to hear any thoughts you may have as well!

Microwave XT Acidic Trance Wavetable Basslines Pt. 1

"In this video, I used a single bassline patch on the Microwave XT and quick midi pattern + cc automation I programmed in Logic which I then recorded at 132 BPM with different wavetables/waveforms for the purpose of noting how the different choices affect the overall sound along with which ones I may use within the context of my music. For a couple wavetables, the filter resonance (which I kept at around 109 I believe for these recordings, using the 12db LPF) tends to stick out a little much and could be dialled back a bit. I chose my favourite 8 results for this video. For part 2 I'll be using a different filter and more complex midi CC to really pronounce the wavetables - let me know if you have any requests!

I think my favourites are the simple Sawtooth as well as Fuzzsync and Sawsync1.

"This is a single-patch ambient piece using the DSI Poly Evolver with its droning VCA, wondrous sequencer capabilities, and expansive delays working together to help provide an ambient star fall show. About midway through, a touch of Valhalla Shimmer on a send is slowly brought in to provide some more depth. Endless creation with the PEK. The video artwork is done by me as well with help from a photo of the moon that I took and Photoshop for the animation."

This is a short track made using only the Dave Smith Instruments / Sequential Poly Evolver Keyboard recorded into Logic Pro X. For this example, no further processing was applied - pure Poly Evolver.

This is a single droning patch with some slight improvisation on the Dave Smith Instruments Poly Evolver Keyboard. The external inputs are being fed a recording of some beautiful windchimes. This was recorded into Logic and I slightly rolled off the high end with eq. The video was recorded by myself. The Poly Evolver experiments continue!

5. Not out of the Woods Yet | Multitrack Demo on the DSI/Sequential Poly Evolver

This is a multitrack recording demonstrating sounds from the Dave Smith Instruments / Sequential Poly Evolver. All sounds are from the PEK recorded into Logic Pro X, with the exception of 1 field recording of quiet forest ambience recorded at the scene of the video in the woods (Field recording is not processed by the PEK in this one. Video & audio recorded separately). Some EQ, compression, delay, & reverb were applied in Logic.
